All zoo, all the time! From the Topeka Zoo to the zoo at my house, I never seem to get away from the rat race! So, why not just blog about it?? Enjoy!

Well, what can I say? When Mike and I found out that we were expecting a little girl, it was a very emotional day. We had one little boy already and was raised with so many brothers. What was I going to do with a girl? How was Mike going to react to her? The day Jacqueline Teresa Workman entered this world was the first time I have ever seen my husband come close to crying. He will fiercely deny it, but, lying on the c-section table, I saw the tears well up in those eyes of his. Jackie was the most beautiful little creature, born rosy pink and with her little turned up grin. I thought her mouth reminded me of the Joker from Batman and it still does. She was perfect and wonderful! Today she still is perfect and wonderful, but she is so much more. She has taught me how to be a good mom to a little girl, to use what I learned growing up and to make it all even better. She has enabled me to reach deep within myself and find the courage to change the things that need to be made better with me so I can raise her to be the best woman she can be. I'm still changing and she's still growing and I suspect it will continue on on that way forever. She now is stuck in the middle between older brother Gabe and younger brother Will and she likes it just fine. After all, she is still the lone princess and daddy's pride and joy. Gabe and Will exist to be "Jackie's security detail", according to Dad.
